Two years after launching as the first online poker site dedicated exclusively to open-face Chinese (OFC) poker, Tonybet Poker decided to up their game with the addition of rake-free six-handed Texas hold'em and pot-limit Omaha cash games.
In a note sent to the media on Nov. 19, the poker room explained that the choice to widen the offer of the games available on the platform is in line with Tonybet's mission of "providing action-packed poker gaming with players getting involved in as many hands as possible."
The rake-free games are already available in micro stakes with the blinds ranging from €0.01/€0.02 to €0.25/€0.50. According to the poker room, however, there is already a precise plan in place to gradually increase the availability of games at different stakes and introduce sit-and-gos, as well as multi-table tournaments.
Although the poker room is busy with the organization of the second-ever Tonybet Poker Open-Face Chinese Poker World Championship set to begin on Dec. 6, Tonybet's spokesman Warren Lush explained that "the launch of our in-house-built, rake-free six-max Texas hold'em and pot-limit Omaha cash games has been on our agenda for a while now and we didn't want to wait any longer."
He added: "We remain the world's leading open-face Chinese poker site, but now with the addition of new cash games give our players the chance to play no-limit hold'em and pot-limit Omaha on our site instead of searching for them somewhere else."
Tonybet Poker's ambassador Isabelle Mercier said she is "super excited" about the addition of the new games on the platform.
"We love OFC poker here at Tonybet and will continue spreading the word about this rapidly growing game," Mercier said. "However, the new games will give us even more leverage in the competitive online poker market. I really admire the decision to make them rake-free on launch which should drive a massive amount of players once the good news gets out."
The Second OFC Poker World Cup Begins On Dec. 6
The launch of the new rake-free cash games is not the only initiative that is going to make this end of 2015 a time to remember for the poker room created by Lithuania's businessman, poker pro, and member of the European Parliament Antanas Guoga.
From Dec. 6-8, the second edition of Tonybet Poker's OFC Poker World Cup will head back to King's Casino at the Corinthia Hotel for what promises to become the largest live OFC poker event ever held.
Aiming to replicate the great success of last year's edition of the World Cup, when chess pro and PokerStars minds sports ambassador Jennifer Shahade took down the biggest cash prize ever awarded in a live OFC poker tournament by winning the €10,000 High Roller event for €218,500.
The 2015 edition of Tonybet's OFC Poker World Cup features a three-event schedule that includes Tonybet OFC €350 Progressive Pineapple event on December 6, a €1,000 Tonybet OFC World Championship Main Event on December 8, and a €10,000 Tonybet OFC High Roller reentry event on December 7.
