Playing Marginal Hands in Sit-n-Gos with CardRunners’ Collin Moshman

Collin Moshman is a heads-up and sit-n-go specialist who has authored two well regarded strategy texts, Sit 'n Go Strategy: Expert Advice for Beating One-Table Tournaments and Heads-Up No-Limit Hold'em: Expert Advice for Winning Heads-Up Poker Matches. He's also an instructor for CardRunners, and today shares a helpful video focusing on the topic of playing marginal hands in sit-n-gos.

In this 10-minute "quickie" video, Moshman discusses how it is possible to play the bottom 75% of hands profitably, focusing in particular on blind-versus-blind situations.

In his examples, Moshman covers several different hands and situations, all of which show him exploring situations in which he's taking less than premium starters like {10-Clubs}{9-Spades} and {K-Hearts}{2-Spades} past the flop, thereby forcing him to make some tricky decisions. Along the way Moshman also talks about advanced topics like barreling, board texture, bet sizing and more.

While such hands aren't always preferable to play — especially from out of position — Moshman explains how they can be profitable when certain SNG-specific conditions are present. Take a look:
